Augmented Reality Application to Expand The Commercial Value of Artworks |   2023  |   Hangzhou, Zhejiang

In the eyes of the general public in contemporary China, the concepts of art museums and galleries are often blurred, leading to situations where visitors are uncertain whether the exhibited artworks are available for purchase. This ambiguity, to some extent, hinders the dissemination and development of artworks. The project aims to enhance the promotional reach of gallery exhibitions through an augmented reality (AR) initiative, thereby increasing the commercial value of artworks.
Building upon the existing exhibitions at the venue, the project employs AR technology to seamlessly integrate the exhibited pieces with the objective physical world, such as architectural facades, attracting tourists from the surrounding neighborhoods. The project endeavors to present a novel exhibition format and an online platform for art-related interactions. Through this platform, users can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the artworks they are interested in and conveniently purchase the pieces that resonate with them.
