To build a high-quality, modern new city and enhance the prominence of Liangzhu New City, the project design aims to implement the urban design vision for the core area. It should integrate with surrounding developments such as the Exhibition and Fashion District, the Art and Culture Waterfront Island, and other existing projects, creating a modern, elegant, intelligent, and eco-friendly cultural facilities complex.
Adhering to the principle of overall coherence, the design will consider the functional layout, facade image, and skyline coordination of neighboring parcels, ensuring seamless integration and development with the surrounding area while highlighting the architectural character of the site. The goal is to create a human-centered spatial scale, and to organize pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows in a way that meets the needs for safe, convenient, and efficient movement.
The design will also implement the concept of green, sustainable development by utilizing eco-friendly technologies to achieve low-carbon energy efficiency while maintaining the existing landscape corridor's accessibility. Emphasis will be placed on the creation of public spaces, fostering a harmonious integration of ecological landscapes and architectural structures.
The site is located in the Liangzhu New City area, with the Yuzhai River ecological axis to the north, the Headquarters Ecological Island to the east, and the Knowledge Industry Park to the southwest, with Metro Line 4 passing underneath, with a station set on the southwest side. According to the plan, an aerial walkway will connect the two regions, bridging the east and west sides. The waterfront landscape is intricately woven, creating a network that roots deeply in the Liangzhu New City. Surrounding Yuzhai Lake and Yuzhai River, the Civic Center and Library, together with the North City Cultural Center and the Zhenxin Exhibition Complex, will form the urban "living room" of Liangzhu New City, becoming the core space for public urban life.
The overall layout reflects the beauty of harmony through the inheritance and integration of ancient and modern concepts. It addresses contemporary needs through dialogue and solutions, embodying the principle of "beauty in unity." It also looks toward the future with innovation and design, representing a vision of mutual growth and coexistence. Drawing on the idea of "using the past for the present," ancient and modern elements are fused together. The traditional concepts of "heavenly circle, earthly square" and the "wall of harmony" are introduced to form the design concept for the cultural core of Liangzhu New City. Symbols of good fortune, such as the koi fish and jade cong, are incorporated to symbolize the revival of local cultural context and the creation of a prosperous and beautiful future.
The functions of the various buildings are interconnected through design techniques such as aerial walkways and underground corridor halls, seamlessly merging civic activities with cultural experiences. This approach integrates the revival of local culture with modern urban life, offering a flexible space that can be divided or combined as needed, without interference.
